That should give you some indication of the kind of year I've been having.
I'm just going to post for the sake of posting.
HALLOWEEN!!! YAY!!! I'm going as a Playing Card soldier from Alice in Wonderland (with my paint bucket and brush to paint the roses red), my friend is being Alice. My costume officially kicks ass, btw. I made a chain mail skirt out of actual playing cards and paper clips. It fucking rocks! We're trying to figure out if we should go to a party (which sounds kinda meh... I don't even know the people planning it... so probably not too fun), or if we should go trick or treating. Yes! 20 year olds can trick or treat too!! Or should we say fuck it and just go bowling in costume, which I maintain would be much more fun.
Anyhoo... I really want to read a Yotsubato! comic about Halloween. I think she'd dress up as an alien, because she acts like she's from another planet :D
I really want to watch Bones today for some reason, but I have to go to Japanese language lab and meet with my Screenwriting 320 professor at 5. I guess I can squeeze in one episode, though.
ELECTION!! I finally got my ballot in the mail today (or rather, my house got it, I'm at my college apartment)!! I was worried some idiot lost it in the mail. So YAY!! VOTE OBAMA and NO on 8!!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!! I'm going to cry if McCain/Palin wins, or if Prop 8 passes, then I'll wear all black in mourning on Wednesday. If Obama/Biden wins and Prop 8 looses, I'm going to wear party hats to class. On a sad note, my G-ma (grandmother) voted yes on 8 already. BOOO!!! G-ma, why!!
That's about it. My screenplay is coming along nicely. It's a animated feature length screenplay, and I'm on page 76 already.
Oh, forgot to mention. I'm now hooked on the Discovery Channel show, Cash Cab. I used to just watch Discovery for Mythbusters, but now I have another show to watch. I get all the answers right, so Cash Cab makes me feel smart.
One annoying thing. My stupid laptop mouse clicker keeps sticking, so when I type, it randomly starts highlighting things on its own. So I accidentally delete it when I keep typing, or it clicks in a random spot, and I start typing in the middle of a word five paragraphs up. WTF!! Does anyone else have this problem?
Overall, things are actually looking up, which I guess means soon something shitty will happen. I better wear a good luck charm. XD

Wow, I suck at posting. It probably doesn't matter much, though since no one will read this shit.
November was interesting. It was my roommate's birthday, so I got her a cool science shirt from ThinkGeek.com since she's a bio major. (It was the "heavy metal" shirt that has all the metals on the periodic table written out in hardcore, emo writing.) She loved it, so that was fun. We were nice too and DIDN'T throw her into the pond. (LMU birthday tradition)
Then what happened? A bunch of midterms. FUN!! Kicked ass on 'em though. YAY!!
Then it was time for thanksgiving and birthday (not mine so who cares?). Happened to fall on the same day, which was cool. We went to a restaurant for thanksgiving dinner, though, which wasn't very cool. The turkey was over-salted or something, so it ended up tasting like a TV dinner. The mashed potatoes were barley lukewarm and tasted all garlicky and gross. The pie was bad, too soggy. Like they defrosted it too fast then it froze up and melted again. All that and it cost $20 a plate for adults. RIP OFF!! Also, the lovely black sheep of the family came, which is always a source of misery. And, of course, he came last and the only seat left was at our table (the table with me, my siblings, and the three little cousins who shouldn't be exposed to this crap). So that was nice and uncomfortable. But that's what the holidays are all about, right?
Then the day after I get back to school, I have a FINAL for my studio production class. Luckily it went well, since I did all the work and got the set and everything ready to go early. Of course, my teacher tried to "help" too much so that was an added stress. He didn't "help" as much as he usually does, though, so that's good. We did the Dead Parrot sketch from Monty Python. At least now I don't have to worry about that class anymore. I just have to worry about all the others. For APAM, I have a 20 minute presentation to work on for next week AND a HUGE final the week after. For Pre-production, I have a scale model of a set and a documentary proposal/pitch both due next Wednesday.
For Western Civ., I have to spend another week on my damned paper (worth about 20% of my grade). It was due this past Wednesday, so I gave my teacher my rough draft for her to look over and mark up on Monday. I went to her office hours Tuesday to pick it up and work on it (despite the fact that I had over 10 hours of class that day), but she LEFT EARLY so I missed her. So come Wednesday, I have to turn in my rough draft. She apologized and said she FORGOT, but she would give me until next monday to finish it and promised to bring the marked draft Friday. Guess what? She forgets AGAIN. Now it's due next Friday. Everyone else gets to focus on their final study guides next week, but I have to worry about the stupid paper!!! ARGHHHH!! It's not even like I'm the flake or the dunce of the class. I have a fucking A+ right now!!! I don't deserve this shit, especially from teacher who says she likes me so much. If you liked me and my work, then stop forgetting. I can't believe this, I wish I could just say "I forgot" when I have huge projects due. *growls*
Then, we had a cool concert trip planned to surprise my roommate for a belated birthday of fun (since she had tests and shit on the real day). It was supposed to be a surprise, so we just told her to set aside Saturday so we could go out and have fun. So we go online, buy 9 tickets to a Fallout Boy concert in San Diego, and wait. Then Thursday, she tells us she can't come. Of course, she doesn't know we've bought tickets already. It turns out her brother surprised the family with tickets to Disneyland... the same day. So we tell her, she feels bad, we feel bad. I feel really bad for her, because she's the kind of genuinely nice and caring person who will feel really crappy for us, not for her own sake. So we decided to still go and wish her a good time at Disneyland (honestly I'd prefer Disneyland to a concert any day, but that's just me). I'm not going, though. My teacher (another one) just sprung a huge project on me that I have to work on today (I don't have the supplies at school). I don't even like Fallout Boy. I just wanted to go because I didn't want to miss out on yet another group trip (I miss a lot because of my night classes and shoots). Also I would feel too bad if the guest of honor was the ONLY one who couldn't go. Hopefully they found someone else to use my ticket. Oh well, it was a nice thought. ^__^
Anyway, now I'm at home. After I work on my project, I'll maybe make an entry or two for the pokemon comm. Christmas contest :)
Only two more weeks of this bull shit, then it's WINTER BREAK!!!! THANK GOD, or baby Jesus, whatever.
:D

I really need to update this thing.
So yeah, Halloween this Wednesday. Hooray!! Oh wait, not hooray, because I have class from 6-10 pm that night!! WTF!!? Hopefully my friends and I (who have formed an Alice and Wonderland group for Halloween) will be able to trick or treat (yes, you heard me, we still do that) before then. I will be dressed as a playing card soldier (you know, painting the roses?) by the way.
But that leaves me in another predicament, I have to go straight to class... in costume. Normally I would think that was totally cool, but this is a once a week class, and therefore I don't know the people that well. Also, I have to give a presentation... in costume. I like when people laugh at my witty comments, not when they laugh at me.
Oh well, if it's for the sake of Halloween, I will endure.

I think I'm going to be bruised the entire year while I have this loft bed. So my alarm goes off today for the first day of classes, and I almost kill myself climbing down. Fun. The ladder steps are super thin, so they feel like they're cutting into your feet.
Anyway, I had to post the awesome-ness. So each dorm on campus has a theme, like Time Warp, Movies, etc. Ours is TV (perfect for me, but I guess the movie theme would have been equally appropriate for a Film/TV Production major). And each floor has a sub category (last year I was in the time warp building, and my floor was the 70's (once again perfect for me, as I dress as if I'm in the 70's anyway and LOVE MASH (duh, username is pretty obvious))).
Guess what the floor theme is?
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES!!!!!! Fuck yeah!!
Right outside our door is a giant Michealangelo poster, and the name tags on the outside of our doors are either a turtle (with little colored masks added ^ ^) or an anchovy pizza. It's kind of funny, because I brought t TMNT DVD with me, as well as my Ninja Turtles shirt. I think I should have a showing of TMNT for all my friends to celebrate this wonderful theme.
I'll have to take pics to post here and on facebook.
yay!

Yeah, so I've been really lazy about posting to my journal. Not that anyone cares about what I put on this thing, but I feel kinda bad for neglecting it.
I'm back at college now, which means that I'll be swamped or posting even less. Either that, or I'll go absolutely crazy and post more than ever... It's nice to have a roommate that isn't a drunken bitch. ^ ^ But move in is WAAAAYY too stressful. There were moments where I thought it would come to blows. I have to still sort out some stuff, but I'm pretty much settled.
One thing. I have a loft style bed this year, which is great for space, but kind of terrifying when it comes to FALLING OFF. It's also really wobbly, and the two sections of wood that make up the posts (you heard right, they just add on to the captain's height...) are only connected by 2 measly bolts!! Also, the ladder is so thin that your feet throb as you go up and down. I guess I'll get used to it, but right not I'm just concerned with not falling to my... headache/broken arm/whatever.
Back to summer. Well, I went to San Diego with the fam. It was pretty good (minus the usual everyone almost killing each other). We went to Sea World, which is always good. The shows have become pretty crappy, though, or should I say corny? The Shamu "Believe" show has turned into a nice Republican propaganda machine with all these empty words of thanks and "support" for the troops. (Here's a good way to support them, bring them home alive!) The dolphin show is the same as always with the pathetic trainer plant pretending to be a wife visiting with her family. Then suddenly, OH NOES, she falls in the water!! (I won't say any more for fear of spoilage...) Of course, the lamer the regular shows get, the better "Sea Lions Tonite" becomes. (This show parodies all the other shows, this time it was pretty hilarious. ^ ^)
The second day, that we decided to devote to the rides, ALL THE RIDES WERE CLOSED!!! AHHH!!! Finally Shipwreck Rapids stared working, but we never did Atlantis. It was kinda funny and sad to see all the people standing in line for a ride they'll never experience. That's about it for vacation.
Back to school, I just looked up the books I have to buy this year. And one of my production books costs $132!!!! WTF!!! I want to get it online discount, but I'm worried that the teachers will get all smarmy about it because it will take a while for it to get to me. (Film/TV Profs. are kinda pissy, at least the ones I've had so far, hopefully they're the few and not the many...(not nearly as cool as Prof. Oak...)) I guess it could be useful later, since that IS my planned career. Hmm... I'll have to figure that out.
Lately I've been into Pokemon again. I got back into playing Pokemon Ranger, which is great!! For a while I stopped playing because I got stuck on this puzzle-ish part where you had to get past alarmed floor tiles. It sort of broke my spirit. Then I tried again, got pissed off, then FINALLY beat it. (Only to discover 3 more of these floors...) But I got through it and beat the game. I'm still working on the Ranger Net missions, because I didn't want to do the Mew one and have nothing to do here at school when I get bored. Though I'm also trying to complete the Pokemon Browser (the Ranger version of the Pokedex), so that should take a while.
Now that I've fallen back in love with Ranger, I joined the pokemon community here. Then did a couple entries in a drawing contest (that I'm secretly very proud of, but won't admit it), which was a lot of fun. Now I'm watching the anime from the beginning (I'm on episode 34 or something). I forgot how clever that show can be; and Pikachu is a riot! Oh Team Rocket... so pathetic.
Ok, that about covers everything. Now I must go and watch Pokemon (and try to do it secretly so my suite mate's don't laugh at me...)

Yeah, so I just finished reading HP 7 at 8 am this morning, after staying up all night to finish it. *cries* I thought she said it WASN'T a bloodbath! Maybe I read the quote wrong...
It wouldn't be nearly as devastating if J.K. Rowling didn't seem determined to kill all my favorite characters. AHHH!!! *CRIES* (I won't say who I'm referring to, of course.)
Still a kick ass book, though. Will definitely have to re-read soon to cope with everything. (But I won't be calling the grief counseling hotlines, though; I'm not that pathetic.)
Thank God fro Nanalan' and Yotsubato! I was able to tear myself away from Harry to watch an episode of Nanalan' at 3 am (I know hard core Potter-heads will curse me for abandoning Harry for one second, but NANALAN', DAMNIT!!). It cheered me up, so the urge to kill myself was kept at bay.
Then this morning, after finishing and taking a catnap, I read Yotsubato! 47 and 48, which made me so happy. Now I am dangling somewhere near normal brain function. Once I get some sleep, I should be better. ^ ^
I hope snarky assholes don't bitch about the book though. (They always find SOMETHING to be bitchy about, don't they?) If they do, I'm going to have to open a can of whoop ass. I have a considerably large can of whoop ass, by the way.
nyaa... Now I have to find another literary hero to follow, until I start re-reading from Year 1, that is! ^ ^

Here is my current conundrum. I have to decide on my dorm bed configuration, and I'm stuck between loft and captain's height (35" off the ground). On one side, the dorm is tiny, so the more space the better. Obvious choice = loft! On the other hand, though, I'm a heavy sleeper. I used to fall out of my bed when I was little, and I'm worried about falling out of the loft (since the STUPID design has ABSOLUTELY no measures to prevent falling out of the damned thing). Obvious choice = captain's height!
See my problem? It's not very big, but I have anxiety issues and this kind of crap really gets to me (more so than silly little things like, "what will I do with my life?") HELLO! The important and pressing question really is WHAT BED CONFIGURATION?!
Also, how will I know where my PROD 250 class is? If it's in that one studio, how can I tell? The door's always open, so you can't see the classroom number. And if it isn't open, what if I go inside and ruin somebody's shoot? AHHHHH!! ANXIETY PROBLEMS SUCK!!
ahh... I feel better. Thanks for letting me get out my daily dose of crazy.

I guessed wrong. My pals just wanted to go to the mall for the sake of going to the mall. For such a group of lovable Potter-heads, this is very strange behavior. hmm... -_-;
Good trip though. (My two guy pals were having a competition to see who could turn a little packet/cup of half and half into butter first... by shaking it... I LOVE THESE PEOPLE!!) Got a bag for $6.50 that was originally $22. WOO!! SALE!!
But why are the (insert popular clothing brand here) workers at the Santa Anita Mall mean to you if you're not Asian?... racist... I was very nice and friendly to her too, WTF!! I need that big stamp from Conan O'Brien to come up and say "BITCH."
But it's all good, because my best friend and I went to Sweet Factory (which I NEVER got to do with my mom, EVER) and got Jelly Belly goodness. ^ ^ yummy. It's strange that now that we're all in college, we decide to do all this high school stuff.
Anyhoo. I'll have to see HP 5 with my lil bro I guess... argh, he better not be annoying about it.
BOOK 7, come out soon please!

Might be seeing HP 5 today. Oh yeah! Might not. Oh noes! Hopefully will.
Re-read Half-Blood Prince. Bad idea. Now I want to re-read the others.
Don't have 'em. Borrowed from G-pa. Gave 'em back when lil bro finished them. Bad idea. Should have kept 'em. Love the word "'em."
G-pa doesn't re-read anyway. What the hell does he need 'em back for? He still has my Narnia books 1-4!! Angry now.
Conan had Daniel Radcliffe on yesterday. Funny stuff. Conan is awesome. Said "interweb." Became God.
That is all.
Don't you just love fragments?

...AWESOME!!
This site and the videos there just made my day.
Can I nominate this show for a Daytime Emmy? (Actually it's also on at 9pm (in LA, at least) so does that mean a regular Emmy too?? I say it deserves both!!)

Yeah, so I just watched the Silent Hill movie a couple days ago for the first time. It was pretty good, but needed more Pyramid Head (or Red Pyramid, whatever, I've always called him Pyramid Head and I'm gonna keep calling him that, so there).
Too bad they didn't do all those strange endings like with the games (it was all... THE DOG!!! Oh noes!!) I miss the Silent Hill song. *sings* "Silent Hill no uta..."
Then right after we watched it, my bro and sis and I watched that qubo channel. Silent Hill and children's programming... hmm. @_@ It was an interesting mix. (It made for very strange dreams…) But it was all good, because I got to see my favorite kid's show, "Nana Lan'"! ^ ^
It's a puppet show about a little kid who goes to her Grandma's everyday. The puppet is green with pigtails and looks like Kermit the Frog's illegitimate child. She's freakin’ adorable and has many adventures. I have to find where I can get more of this show... It's kind of strangely addictive... or I just have issues.
argh!! Rolled my ankle yesterday... damn it.

I guess misery loves company. The AX horror stories on the forums made me feel a little better. It's nice to know I'm not the only one who thought AX 2007 was the WORST I'VE EVER BEEN TO!! (This was my 6th AX, btw) I got the 4 day pass, but I left on Friday. THAT should express the crappiness of this year.
WOW, Con Staff, way to try and SELL a woman with HEAT STROKE water!! I understand trying to make a buck, but do you have to sell your soul to work there?
Glad to see I'm not the only AX-goer bearing sunburns.
Better luck next year, but seeing as we're in LA, I'm not expecting much. (I'm a local; I know what I'm talking about.)
AX, please take all the angry comments as incentive to GET YOUR FREAKING ACT TOGETHER!!! >_

Yeah, so I went to AX this past Friday and WOW... way to go Long Beach. *flips the bird*
Convention Staff = ill-informed and RUDE
Organization = non-existent
Exhibition Hall = Yeah, so I guess if you don't like Bleach or Naruto then you're pretty much hosed. Stock something else, damn it!!
Lines = it'd be nice if they actually went somewhere & didn't leave me and my sis trapped in limbo, unable to escape the convention center and get back to the Hyatt!! (the HYATT for Christ’s sake!!)
Managing of the Guests = well, it was nice while that lasted... Way to totally screw over the fans and treat guests like crap! Now no one will come visit us…
AMVs = FAIL
Total AX rundown = I MISS YOU ANAHEIM!!!!!
On the plus side, I did a casual Yotsuba cosplay, which was fun. (I can’t believe I didn’t see any other Yotsubas; I guess everybody still has a boner for Haruhi…) I wore a piece of wood around my neck that read "Under punishment" (in Japanese, of course, from Chapter 41) and a few people who ROCK actually recognized me. (For the rest of you, YOU MUST READ YOTSUBATO!) And I might be on Japanese TV (there was a video crew there and the camera guy recorded me after he read my piece of wood… Unless he’s just some weirdo, then ew…)

Yeah, so I had to go to a funeral yesterday. Ironically, a good source for humor. We were joking the entire drive up to the funeral home/cemetery and it was OUR Grandma. But, hey, it's not like it was anything serious, just a funeral. ^ -
We had the reception at our house, and we had to meet all these relatives I've never seen in my life. People acting all friendly and familiar, and I'm thinking "I DON'T KNOW YOU!" I still haven't figured out who goes with which kid and all that, let alone how they're related to me. (Second cousin, once removed on your father's uncle's niece's side... WTF!?)
So right now I'm all befuddled, and full... We had lots of leftovers...
nyaa!! AX coming soon! ^ ^

Yeah, so I wanna do a Yotsuba cosplay for AX this year, because it's simple and she's awesome. ^ ^ I already have totally cool shoes with four leaf clover laces (I know she wears velcro, but I thought since her name is Yotsuba it works) I also have a bag like her little bag with a four leaf clover patch I put on, but I can't find the damned shorts. (Well I can't find a pair that doesn't look like crap... -_-...)
So I'm kinda sad right now. Hopefully I still have time to look.
...I guess I should figure out how to do the hair style too. hmm...
nyaa... ^ -
Why does AX have to be in Long Beach... hrmm... Now I'll be all confused...
